New ReviewerI tried to call Cenlar bank to get the payoff amount for my mortgage and to find out why a $1000 check was not cashed or posted to my account. I know they received the check because there were two checks in the same envelope, and one was deposited.
The customer service is in India. There is no way to speak to anyone in the USA. You have to wait 24 hours for an American service agent to call you. The main office of the bank is 2 miles from my home in an office complex but you are not allowed in the office.
I was told, after a agent in the USA that I would have to wait until security could be found for me to speak to someone in the office. About the check that was not deposited to my account--I was told a machine opens the deposits and after posting shreds the checks and I should cancel the other check I sent. For me to cancel the check it would cost me $35 and I told them they lost it they should pay the other bank for the check. I was told they wouldn't do that even though they lost it.
no costumer service or consideration. Imagine putting your money in a bank that has no one to talk to in this country and no customer service. When I took my mortgage out 18 years ago it was a local bank and treated customers well.
I never had problems with this company before. They are like a ghost bank that just collects your money.
Reason of review: Problem with delivery.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

The secret to speaking to a person in the Cenlar Bank is to go on line and go onto the site that advertises new loans or mortgages. This is the only site that will not go to India.
You can get a person in the USA who will put you into the department you need or if nothing else get you into an American in customer service.
thank you for the info Gail!
