I have had it with this company! I was a TB&W client and was sold off to Cenlar. I had absolutely no issues previous to dealing with Cenlar...for the last year I have been dealing with them jacking up my escrow account by $300+ because I have had to have my insurance...

Be very careful about what information you give to CENLAR when they tell you they are willing to help you bring your loan current. They work very closely with the foreclosure mill attorneys--I believe the "loss mitigation" team either works for the law firms, or get compensated for pushing through foreclosures when they are supposed to be doing loan mods/repayment plans.

Class action pending against this terrible company. Get the full name and ID numbers for each CENLAR rep you speak to, because they will lie about what they promised to you on the phone.

You will want to file a counterclaim against the company AND the individual employee. Also do not sign any loan modification if it requires you to waive your right to a jury trial.

Cenlar in a *** Company

On Aug 16th 2012 we Received a notice that proof of our current home owners insurance was due. They received this proof on or before Aug 20th 2012. As they sent us a letter that they had received this proof Dated Aug 20th 2012. Yet between these 4 days between requested proof and proof provided they charged our account $110.00 in escrow for Temporary "home owners insurance". This is unreasonable as we provided proof as quickly as possible after it was requested, 4 days. Our insurance never lapsed x 3 years. Never a late payment to loan or insurance.

I can one-up you - last year we switched home-owners insurance. The date for payment of the premium changed and we had to adjust our escrow, accordingly.

This year, when time came to pay the premium, we got a notice from the new insurance company that it was missed and we would be cancelled. Cenlar did not make the adjustment in their records. We called Cenlar and "Al" (its always an "Al" whose name is clearly not "Al") told us they would take care of it and not to worry. 30 days later we get a cancelation notice from our insurance company - NO INSURANCE!

And to make matters worse, they told us they would not renew us. We had to scramble to get new insurance. We call Cenlar and "Al" apologizes up and down and promises to take care of it. We check our account on-line and now our escrow account is near empty - they took money out for insurance but the clearly did not pay our former insurer who refuses to renew us and they don't know yet who our new insurer is who we paid, directly.

So where is our escrow money? And this is not the first time we have had problems with Cenlar.

Cenlar did this to me also. Lived in the same place foe 23 years, never purchased flood insurance because I am not in a flood zone.

Cenlar sent me a letter saying my flood insurance had lasped. Never had any. I told them that. Sent them a copy of the FEMA flood map, sent them a elevation certificate.

They said it was not good enough I had to have a LOMA letter from FEMA. So I have had to apply to FEMA for a LOMA letter because they put $752 worth of flood insurance on my account. Guess what i had to do for the FEMA letter. Hire a land surveyor and have an elevation certificate done.

Another $325.

Yes a *** COMPANY.Must have some kind of kick back from insurance companies. Idiots work there.

Cenlar is the WORST mortgage company I've delt with EVER!

My husband notified Cenlar-after being pushed around from bad customer rep to another . After finally getting a "supervisor" who we could understand, he let them know we would be late on our 11/11 payment. We made a "deal" with them, if we doubled up the next month (December, along with Christmas debt) on that payment, which we did-keeping up our end of the deal, then, they would not report us to the credit bureau. Well guess what? They went ahead and did it any way! Now, we are so screwed! Our credit was PERFECT, never even a late pay. Now we cannot refi, we a stuck with HORRIBLE COMPANY for god knows when. They are charging us late fee's when we pay the second half of the month! I see that place like that commercial with the guy in a hut in Syberia! NIGHTMARE! I cannot wait until they get bought out and maybe we can have a real mortgage company again!

AAGGRREEE!!!!!! i got Cenlar's SAME SUBSTANDARD customer service time and time again in trying to close an escrow account that should have never been opened!!!

By the time i got a sup/manager (which they seem non-exsistent their ) the account was soo screwed up.. 4 months later they said I owed $300.00 more than the simple overpayment of one tax payment!!!! in a DESPERATE ATTEMPT to bring this "ugly mess " to a conclusion... i paid the 300.00, (which they really couldnt tell me where it came from...

it just "must have been on the acct. from way back ) A VERY EXPENSIVE lesson learned!! ALWAYS FAX A COPY OF YOUR TAX PAYMENT IN to your mortgage co when you pay your own taxes! WAY BETTER....

than them giving you a heartattack with their "customer service"!

My husband and I have always had stellar credit when the economy in 2009 threw us into cenlar type banks from our local bank and it blew my mind... :x :x

You should know your rights prior to making a "deal" Servicers cannot allow you to remain current if you are not.. They can however send a letter to you that you were on a payment plan which you can give as an explanation to any new credit. How did one 30day stop a refinance?

it is against the law to report someone current on a loan when the are delinquent which why you got reported anyway, it is actually your fault you got reported delinquent and can't refinance.

CENLAR does not post your payments on the date they receive payments. Many customers could be paying late fees when they really should not. PLUS, the return envelope coupons they send customers is going to a PO box somewhere, not CENLAR's office. That adds...

I budget and have my payment near when I get paid to arrive at Cenlar before the 16th of the month. Accounting for postal delays, I now mail it a couple of days earlier. However Cenlar many times post the day after its due and then charge late fees.

Cenlar (#325865)

After months of requesting the refund of the funds withheld by Cenlar after I had refinanaceed my loan, I complained to Pissed Consumer about the problem. Shortly afterwards I received a check for the amount Cenlar had withheld after I had paid off the loan. There was no explanation for the delay nor for my request to pay me 8 months interst at the rate I had paid on the loan. If any of you have a complaint about the way this huge corporation is treating you, I suggest you make a specific and comprehensive complaint to Pissed and continue your personal inquiries to Cenlar. My experience is that they eventually pay up the original amount but fail to compensate for their offences.

Celnal unilaterally jack up my loan for $200/month! Thir explanation is that when loan was transfered to them from original lender (Home Savings of America) in June this year they cannot find proof of insurance for period April 2011 to June 2011 and decided to impose retroactve policy of $2400. Of cours eae had insurance (nobody will originate loan w/o insurance), period they talking is first two months of loan which was originated in April 2012. After spending more than two hours on phone with somebody who speek broken English and put me on hold 10 times he come to conclussion that they have to "recalculate" my loan again and I have to send them proof of insurance for period which is 15 monts past?! This is sample of loan shark or organized gouging of unprotected customer. What can I do now?

I work for a personal insurance company and we often receive requests to furnish evidence of insurance to our customers or their bank to prove that insurance was in force. The best course of action is to simply send them a copy of your insurance documentation for that time period and they will remove the force-placed insurance. If you did not have insurance during that time then unfortunately you're subject to the quite expensive insurance policy that they obtained for you during that period of time.

CENLAR REFUSES TO SEND ESCROW FUNDS AFTER MORTGAGE IS PAID OFF.

In Nov 2011, I refinanced my rental house mortgage with Lockheed CU and paid off the previous mortgage which was serviced by CENLAR. CENLAR withheld $1994. 73 and claims to have sent it to the rental home address rather than to me directly. Since early 2012 they respond to me monthly inquires that they have requested a stop on the check and for a reissue to me at my home address. I get the same response each month and no check and no other information about any progress toward resolution of the situation. No one will take any responsibility for correcting the error and it is impossible reach live person by phone.

if you want a fast resolution then please write a mail to the CEO of Cenlar, believe me they will respond very quickly and fix the issue as their jobs come on stake. Greg Tornquist - gtornquist@cenlar.com Robin Brodsky - rbrodsky@cenlar.com Jeanne Bader - jbader@cenlar.com i had an issue with the customer service and the way they deal with us, the service has been outsourced to india and they are horrible, they dont understand your problem and always are rude. they dont even have proper training and hence are useless, god help all the customers, i have refinanced.

Cenlar review in Orlando, Florida: MisManaged & Disorganized !!!!!

I have never experienced such a missed managed company in my life. Payments are sent in plenty of time, PROBLEM they don't post them until after the due date so they can charge you a late fee. You credit score goes to *** all because of them. Their still trying to get the money that the other company screwed them out of from me. I wish the would sell my paper to someone else or someone else would take over. No response of any kind except by mail. Has me blocked from checking my account on-line. What a disorganized, mismanaged company !!!
