Cenlar review in Seattle, Washington: What happened to my complaint of Feb.25, 2010?

I wrote at some length about the abominable business practices of that organized chaos that goes by the name of Cenlar, but my message is gone. Has someone at Pissed Consumer deleted it? If so, what would be the reason? Did someone get spooked because of the idea of a class-action lawsuit, which I also discussed? Is there a rule against mentioning a perfectly legal recourse to an untenable situation? If a consumer is pissed-hot by too much ineptitude, conflicting messages from CS reps, patronizing, condescending responses of these reps when you're lucky enough to get through, and the sinking feeling that this company is abusing its privileges by defrauding us (or certainly appearing to be!), then the next step should be a class action suit -- shouldn't it be? Addressing all lawyers out there: Please read complaints against Cenlar at the BBB website, on this website, and on the Complaint Board website, then let us know if you're interested in helping us. Thank you.

Their excuse? Taylor, Bean & Whittaker, my now-bankrupt former lender, under-estimated my property taxes, so my escrow amount was "re-evaluated" temporarily until a new "re-evaluation" to occur in May. All I get from these jokers is horrible, condescending so-called...

My tax records show late payments and late fees added every tax payment cycle. I've had several escrow anaylsis this year alone with payments going up over 100 each time.

Whats really sad is thanks to amoritization the bank has put 60,000 into their pockets just 7000 has come off my principle the last 3 years.

I'm ready to have bad credit for the next 10 years this is a crime! I truly think the banks / government is intentionally running people out of their homes!

Cenlar hasn't paid my taxes either.

Thanks for everyones complaint I found here. I checked my taxes and they haven't been paid either from 2nd half of 2009. I also had a shortage in escrow Cenlar no response yet. I filled out 30 papers for the Making my home affordable and sent them in. The mortagae was sent to OCWEN.com to service the mortgage. I called them and they are a collection agency???? I have been scammed and now they have all my personal data on myself. I don't know where to go now. By the way I was only 2 months behind.

Rshimek, you can read my complaint against those creeps at Cenlar, the latest one at the top of the chrono list of complaints. Question: how did you find out whether they paid your taxes?

As you'll see in my complaint here, they upped my mortgage payment by $336/mo with the excuse that my taxes were not paid.

So, have they even paid them since assuming my loan in August??? Thank you!

Cenlar is a joke

Cenlar took over our loan from Taylor Bean, who went bankrupt. All payments made to Taylor Bean while the loan was with them are being held in bankruptcy which is in our case is two payments. All other payments have been with Cenlar. Cenlar will get their money when Taylor comes out of bankruptcy. In the meantime we are getting threatening, harassing letters from Cenlar threatening foreclosure, etc. When we call them they say they know the payments are in bankruptcy but for us to ignore the letters. The letters are false, embarrassing, harassing, and a defamation of character. And to top it off they will not stop the letters. We are wanting to file a class action against Cenlar and Taylor Bean for the uproar and personal attacks they are making on the innocent. We did not chose to go with Cenlar - we had no choice. Is anyone out there considering a lawsuit, if so a class action may be the way to go.

Responding to Tammy Hicks, who read my mind regarding a so-well-deserved class-action lawsuit against these creeps. I second the motion that we need a lawyer to gather the evidence from all the innocents wronged and possibly defrauded by these jerks, who seem to be hanging on to all that sweet tax money while charging us gargatuan sums for a new escrow setup, under the excuse that Taylor Bean under-estimated our taxes. Friends, only united can we win back our money and make them pay for threatening so many of us!!!

I'm starting a class action against them, not to get even; but to bring them to justice and to stop them from the fraud. If you're interested, please contact me.

I agree, very disappointed in Cenlar. My mortgage was sold to Cenlar from Taylor, Bean and Whitaker.

After tough times I wanted to refinance, they won't refi the loan. I was then told to lower my rate therou loan modification program and I was approved. Month later and piles of documents and phone calls I find out we were not approved. We don't make enough money to refinance through 4 diferent lendors, yet make too much money to qualify for the HARP loan modification.

Is there any honest legitimate mortgage companies or banks left? I doubt it. All this has done is waste my time and money, and lower my credit score. Thanks for the support, great program...HARP is a joke.

No wonder half the country is in foreclosure. I think I'll move to Asia.

Cenlar lies

Cenlar will not pay my home owners insurance. I have faxed the bill six times and mailed it four times. Every time I speak to a "customer service" rep they tell me a different story. I have either faxed it to the wrong number (then they tell me to fax it to the same number), they claim it never showed up or they tell me I didn't tell them my fax number before it was sent so they could verify they number (what?!). I have also had my insurance provider contact Cenlar and they are as blown away at the lack of service as I am. My lawyer is calling tomorrow! Once this is cleared up (it's been five months thus far) I will get as far away from cenlar as I can. I hope you do as well.

Cenlar claimed that Taylor Bean, now defunct, never sent them my insurance papers (my own condo & master policy for the entire complex). Cenlar took their sweet time to notify me to send them proof of my insurances.

Have just now received their letters, but they've been "servicing" my loan since last August. Their insurance division is called American Security Insurance Co.

and that's where they want your money to go, not to your actual insurance company. That's why you'd do well to pay your own agent yourselves, instead of expecting correct business ethics from those thieves at Cenlar.

I don't receive monthly bills and Cenlar is paying all my insurances and not notifying me, CA

I was with TB&W. I got notified late about the change in companies, now I keep getting money back from my insurance companies because I found out that Cenlar paid them without notifying me and now everything is messed up. I have been sending extra every month on my mortage, now I don't know if it is going to the principle or being used to pay the insurance payment that has been tacked on. I have always paid my own taxes and insurance, now I don't know what my account looks like. I don't think Cenlar cares about their customers.

I have the EXACT same problem, except the insurance co. never sent me money back.

I found out after we tried to refinance and the new company told me I had an escrow account to take care of. Of course CENLAR didn't help in time and so we had to pay them for paying our insurance which nobody asked them to do. They said we would be getting our money back after 30 days.

Well, we got a check today...too bad it's only for half the amount! Should I get a lawyer?!!

Cenlar has our Escrow so screwed up we could lose our home

Our loan was taken over by Cenlar after TBW filed Bancrupcy. At the beginning of Dec. 2009 we were notified that our Escrow account was short on funds in the amount of $3600. Not paying in full would cause our payment to go up an extra $450 a month which we cannot afford! We called and called, finally getting to talk to a person and they gave us the procedure to pay and get the escrow caught up. We borrowed the money, filled out the paperwork stating that the funds were to go to Escrow only. Cenlar posted it as 3 months worth of normal mortgage payment keeping our Escrow short and still raising our mortgage payments. We do not know where to turn because you can't trust what they tell you on the phone and they cannot put the money you send them in the correct location. If the payment stays at the amount it is now we are not going to afford to make our payments and will lose our home. What can we do now????

I am understanding your frustration. I have been on the phone with CENLAR several times.

My home owners insurance (Travelers) has been wonderful at working with me and my mortgage company. My insurance company and I did a three way phone call with CENLAR and they promised to overnight my payment on 1/5/10. This has not happened! Its now 1/18/10 and still nothing.

This has been going on since October and they still have not been paid. I ended up having to put my house insurance on my credit card because after so many months the insurance company could not extend it any more.

I'm actually thinking about calling our local news station called - That's Messed Up to have them investigate all of this. I just don't know what else to do.
