We too are having a number of issues removing the PMI. Our process began over a year ago.
We have been given a number of contradictory emails (because speaking to a human in this process is apparently forbidden). When we do send the requested information in we haven’t recieved responses and in other cases the responses have come months later. Recently I sent in a check for the “appraisal” for $475. They cashed the check and it was nearly 3 weeks before we heard back.
When we heard back it was to request an additional $200. We have a number of professional and personal contacts in the appraisal industry in our area that have all consistently said that appraisals in our area run at about $450.
Despite multiple attempts to communicate this to Cenlar they continue to insist that we need to pay another $200 (that’s $675 for an appraisal in addition the year of paying PMI that we requested and provided evidence meeting their original “guidelines” for removal). Nothing like continually getting it in the backside with this company!
